Individual Career Transition Coaching

Living in southeast Michigan, I made a career as a system analyst in the auto industry. With the industry in trouble, I decided to change directions and look for alternative opportunities in other industries. Given my 30 years of experience, I found that while I was getting interviews, I wasn’t getting offers. In March, I was approached by a consulting firm looking for an individual with an advanced science degree and significant computer expertise for a position in the Washington DC area. This was ideal – a chance to use both my PhD in physics and my extensive experience as a systems analyst! I worked with Nick and Cathy Synko to prepare for my final interview. They were candid, realistic, and responsive. We worked through my presentation, practiced responding to interview questions and fine-tuned numerous details. I found their coaching to be frank and practical. The Synkos’ also provided pragmatic advice about the job market in Michigan and helped my wife and me conclude that making a difficult choice, like leaving Ann Arbor and moving to the DC area for a terrific job, was the right decision. My wife is working with Synko Associates to find a position in the DC area and I’m confident she’ll find an opportunity as terrific as the one I now have.
